Hopefully this will inspire you to research more fun breakfast ideas. What we are striving for is to really limit your sugar intake and choose foods that are low on the glycemic index. Try your best to have as little sugar in your meals as possible. This may take some time to get used to. It is so easy to become addicted to sugar and crave it in everything you eat. Notice how much sugar is in the everyday foods that we purchase from the store. There is sugar in so many foods such as cereal. You are looking for foods that contain little to no sugar.

If you are used to eating sweets at breakfast try to substitute your pastry for something with less sugar and more protein. Maybe try some toast with peanut butter. If you need to give in to that sweet tooth bananas are great to add to your meal for some sweetness. You could try oatmeal mixed with bananas and nuts to add protein. Remember those sugary meals do not give you energy for the whole morning. You will be hungry again by 10am. Not only that but your waistline will truly suffer. You are not feeding your muscles what they need to go through your day. Feeding your body sugar teaches it to store fat and not be that fat burning machine that you need to become to reach your goals!
